Choosing chainsaws

Most distributors build their chainsaw line around three classes. The 25–45cc saws are light enough for pruning, fruit farms and homeowners. The 52–58cc class, led by the NT5800 and NT5853 platforms, is the volume seller for farm work and firewood with 16 to 24-inch bars. The 72–105cc saws (272, 660 and 070-class) are built for felling hardwood and milling, with bars up to 42 inches.

Bars, chains, colours, decals and cartons can be specified per order. Tell us the bar length and chain pitch your market expects (.325" or 3/8") and we will match them to the powerhead.

Typical applications

  • Firewood cutting and farm maintenance
  • Tree felling and forestry logging
  • Orchard and garden pruning
  • Storm clean-up and land clearing
  • Concrete, asphalt and masonry cutting (cut-off saws)

Chainsaws FAQ

Which chainsaw displacement sells best for farm use?

The 52–58cc class with an 18 to 20-inch bar is the most common farm and firewood saw. It has enough power for firewood and medium logs while staying light enough for all-day farm use.

Can you supply chainsaws with a different bar length?

Yes. Most models accept several bar lengths; the NT5853, for example, is offered with 16 to 24-inch bars and the 92cc and 105cc saws with 20 to 42-inch bars. State the bar length on your inquiry.

Do your chainsaws meet CE and EURO V?

CE and EURO II or EURO V engine versions are available on many models. The certification shown on each product page applies to that model; ask us for the certificate copy before ordering.
